This is hard. Tears have flowed, questions been asked, understanding never truly reached. But in the end, I realize that Tony lives on in the memories we hold in our hearts, and they're good ones. Very good.
So, memories... I'll never forget plotting our triumphant California/Colorado BMW invasion of the Alamo Run last year, nor seeing it come to fruition when we finally met face-to-face, on schedule, in Fredricksburg. We grinned like fools as we shook hands, and kept on grinning through the Hill Country ride and on into San Antonio and Pappy's driveway.
That's how I'll remember Tony. With a big, goofy smile on his face, and always at the center of where the most fun was being had.
So long my friend. Your memory has carved out a special niche in my heart.
