This is an actual letter received by someone advertising their 1988 Gold Wing on Texas Wingz. I understand the same scam is making the rounds on other sites advertising motorcycles, including eBay. It's pretty laim actually, and I'd be real surprised that anyone would respond to something like this, but better to give you a heads up than to take the chances of someone loosing their bike and their money.

you a united state certified cashier check of ($9,600) while you wire to me ($3,500) through western union money tranfer point (near any filling station arround you )which i will use inpaying the shippers that will come to your location for the pick up of the 1988 Gold Wing imme! diately the check has been cashed at any cashing store centre in your location.And he is also giving you a compensation amount of ($200) for the effort it will cost you in doing all this processing PLUS the cost of your 1988 Gold Wing making a total sum of ($6,100) for your all.So you will be expecting a certified cashier check of ($9,600) while you wire to me ($3,500) through western union money tranfer point for paying the shippers and you keep the remaining ($6,100) for the cost of your 1988 Gold Wing and for the compensation of your effort in doing all this.
